Carrie Lynn grew up just north of Kingston in the Village of Battersea. She attended LaSalle Secondary School and was a proud Black Knight and then received her Bachelor of Arts at Queen’s University. She started in the paint industry in 1994 as a part-time employee, then full-time and manager for 18 years. Carrie Lynn became proud owner of Kingston Paint in December of 2014. Since then, she has continued to grow Kingston Paint into the largest independent and locally owned paint store in the Kingston area. The array of products and manufacturers that she has selected has allowed Kingston Paint to succeed even while stock shortages plague our industry during this pandemic. She is proud of Kingston Paint’s success and that it allows her to support many local sports teams, charities and fundraising groups in the greater Kingston area. With over 28 years in the paint industry, she shares her knowledge and skills with her team of employees:
Our Store Manager, Mike has been a part of Kingston Paint for 15 years! He is a wealth of knowledge and his colour matching skills are second to none. Mike can assist you with any project inside or out! When not at work, Mike is enjoying life as a Dad and is an avid Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles fan.
Dave has been our part-time employee for 20 years! He works every morning shift and makes sure our contractors get their orders loaded into their vehicles, receives our daily paint deliveries and stocks our shelves. He also makes sure that we have Smile Cookies from Tim Horton’s every year! Dave’s “real” job is as a Camera Operator and production at Cogeco Kingston. You may have also spotted his work with his amazing drone photography on the SkEye Stream Facebook Page.
Amanda joined our team 5 years ago with a lot of experience from a previous position at Color Your World in Barrie. Amanda will guide you through all of the steps for any project and you will leave with confidence and knowledge. Amanda is a country girl at heart and spoils us all with food from her garden and fresh eggs from her chickens!
Christine joined us five years ago but joined the home improvement industry almost 30 years ago as a Home Hardware owner. Her experience with customers and with colour selection made her our obvious choice as our Colour Consultant. In-store for free, or in your home for a nominal fee, Christine will help you select colours that both compliment your home and your personality. Christine is crafty, loves making home-made gifts and loves to crochet!
Barry may be a new member of the Kingston Paint team, but he is definitely not new to the paint industry! Barry began working at Patty's Paints (I recall going there with my Gramma!) 48 years ago! You will recognize the smile behind his mask from his time at Glidden Paints, The Decorating Warehouse and Vandervoort Hardware. He took a brief hiatus from the industry last year and we couldn't be happier to have him join us. He is definitely a paint expert, and when he isn't working you can find him at the rink watching his grandson play hockey!
Keri has been our Window Treatments Specialist for two years now and has been involved in Interior Design for over 8 years. As owner of KLM Interior Design, Keri brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She will help you find the perfect window treatment selection providing both function and design. Window treatment consultations are free in-store or at home! If you are seeking assistance with room design, or furniture placement, KLM Design is available for a nominal fee. When Keri isn’t busy making your home more beautiful, you can find her on the stage at the Grand Theatre; most recently in Toe the Party Line at Kingston's Fringe Festival!
Sarah started with us as a part-time student employee while studying at St. Lawrence College and has been with us for over 4 years. Sarah is a skilled colour matcher and has acquired a great depth of product knowledge in her time with us. Sarah has recently begun a course in the dental field and someday when the world is normal again, she will likely leave us for her “dream job” but for now we are fortunate to have her. From October to April, Sarah can be found watching hockey and cheering for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Jess is our newest student employee. She is headed into her second year at Queen's University. She loves learning new things and is soaking up all of the paint knowledge we are throwing her way. When Jess isn't studying or at work she likes to hang out with her family at their cottage in the summer and play ringette in the winter months.
Willy started working at Kingston Paint in 2020 during our phone order and curbside pick-up only days. Since then he has worked as a part-time student and this year will be a co-op student while deciding what direction his post-secondary education will take. When Willy isn't helping customers or putting away paint orders he can be found playing a variety of sports including football, rugby, baseball and hockey.
